Fly Casting Classes
Our fly casting clinics are taught by our Fly Fishing International certified fly casting instructor, Jeff Hogan, with help from local club professionals such as Bob Zasoski. If you’re a beginner, we’ll get you started. If you’re advanced, we’ll help you to find and correct problems that affect your fly casting accuracy.

Fly Casting Clinics
For FFD members only, our next fly casting clinic will be held on:
Sunday, May 18 – Northstar Park – 9:00 AM (rain or shine)
This clinic will focus on distance casting and its application to fishing. This is not a clinic for learning tournament distance casts. We will spend a lot of time improving your double haul and shooting line. Please plan to attend with your favorite fly rod and a CLEAN, floating weight forward fly line with a tapered leader no longer than 8 feet.
Northstar Ponds are located at 3434 Anderson Rd just west of the F Street and Anderson Road intersection in north Davis. A parking lot that services this area is located off Anderson Rd.
Hats and eye protection are required and yarn flies only (I will provide yarn). Let me know if you need to use a loaner rod and reel and please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions, Jeff Hogan, at jbhogan@ucdavis.edu
Thanks, and see you there!
